The Pappy’s Gumbo Family

Our very first commercial for Pappy's Gumbo!

Called Pappy by family & Doc by friends, where Wayne Ryburn went, his gumbo was sure to follow.

Whether at his own home or on the homemade outdoor-stove at his best friend Chad’s, Pappy was always around someone’s back porch with a pot of his homemade gumbo!

Pappy proudly served for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, and no matter where he was stationed, he always brought southern cooking with him, most often his gumbo.

Opening the door at every event and family function, we could always count on the welcoming smell of Pappy’s gumbo wafting through the air.

With a paddle in one hand and a beer in the other, Pappy would be stirring up the food and the conversation with his boisterous personality.

After Pappy’s passing in 2016, his family wanted to keep his tradition going. After two painstaking years of trial and error, we finally took his brew from the pot to the package.

Using local manufacturers, we’re now happy to bring Pappy’s Gumbo to a pot near you!
