
Ingredients:
Pappy’s Gumbo Mix
2-3 quarts of water
2-3 lbs. chicken breast and sausage, cut into pieces
1 medium-large onion
Fresh parsley, chopped
Cooked white rice, per package directions
Instant Pot Method

Saute chicken, sausage and chopped onion; add to the pot.

Add Pappy’s Gumbo Seasoning Mix and 2-3 quarts of water.

Cook for 30 minutes under the soup/broth option. The longer it simmers, the better!
Serve over rice for a delicious meal!

Traditional Method

In a 4-quart saucepan, combine 2-3 quarts of water and Pappy’s Gumbo Seasoning Mix. Stir Well, cover and bring to a boil.

In a separate skillet, cook 2-3 pounds of cut-up chicken breasts and sausage over medium heat. Add 1 chopped onion and saute until softened.

Add chicken, sausage and onion mixture to liquid gumbo base, along with fresh chopped parsley to taste. Cover and bring to a second boil, then reduce heat and simmer for approximately 2 hours.
Serve over rice for a delicious meal!
